2,120 new cases of COVID-19 registered on Saturday

Kathmandu / A total of 2,120 new cases of COVID-19 were registered in the country while conducting PCR test on 12,978individuals in the past 24 hours. A total of 1,177 individuals are found infected in Kathmandu valley alone today.In a regular press briefing at the Ministry of Health and Population, Spokesperson Dr Jageshwar Gautam shared that a total of 21, 302 are enlisted as active cases of coronavirus in the country.

According to Gautam, 9,773 individuals are in institutional isolation centres across the country. Dr Gautam further shared that 1,061,664 individuals are tested for COVID-19 so far in the country.
Dr Gautam further shared that 2,044 have returned home after complete health recovery from across the country in the past 24 hours. With this, the number of total recovery till today has reached 62,740.

The percentage of total recovery of infected is 74.1 in the country. Gautam added that 31 infected patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals with ventilator support.
A total of eight infected persons have died of virus infection in the past 24 hours in the country. With this, total deaths caused by COVID-19 have reached 528 in the country till today.
According to the Ministry, Morang, Siraha, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Bhaktapur and Rupandehi each district has over 500 active cases. Similarly, Manang, Mustang and Dolpa district have no single case of COVID-19.
