Kathmandu / A total of 2,722 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded from across the country while conducting PCR test on 14,739 individuals in the past 24 hours. The number is the highest one recorded in a single day so far in the country. A total of 1,638 individuals are found infected in Kathmandu valley alone. Of them, 1,280 are in Kathmandu, 162 in Lalitpur and 196 in Bhaktapur districts in the valley.
In a regular press briefing at the Ministry of Health and Population, Spokesperson Dr Jageshwar Gautam shared that there are currently a total of 21, 234 active cases of coronavirus in the country. With this, the number of infected one has reached 82, 450 in the country till Friday.
Dr Gautam further shared that 3,307 have returned home after complete health recovery from across the country in past 24 hours. With this, the number of total recovery has crossed 60,000. He further shared that 11,760 are in home isolations while 9,474 in institutional isolation centres.
There are 4,885 people staying in quarantines.
The latest update recorded 11 deaths of those infected with coronavirus, thereby reaching the death toll to 52 in the country. Similarly, the death rate caused by coronavirus infection is 0.65 per cent in Nepal.
